All grown up but longing for dolly dresses and a girly style, she roots through thrift stores looking for that innocent twist; Welcome to the world of Truly Sopel…

In 2004 Truly Sopel launched her unique fashion label with the aim of designing fun and feminine clothing for the modern day woman; every garment exclusively handcrafted in the UK.

Truly trained as a tailor at the London College of Fashion. However, she remembers making clothes from an early age, initially for her dolls and then for her sisters and friends.

Inspiration…

The brands design inspiration stems from the clothes of childhood; ruched tunics and smocked tops and skirts, all dressed with ribbon bows and quirky buttons creating truly decorative pieces.

The fabrics selected for each collection are beautiful and rare, many of which are sourced from craft markets and vintage fairs throughout the UK and Europe. Unusual trims and traditional sewing techniques finishing each garment.

After market trading for two years in London’s Portobello, Spitalfields and Camden areas and further securing two independent stockists, Truly Sopel opened her first retail shop in December 2006, situated in the picturesque and bustling market town of Frome in Somerset.

Set along the beautiful conservation area of St Catherine’s, Truly Sopel
